Women: young, arthritis, fatigue, exercising, and overweight w/no results?

I'm 29 years old and was an active person until about 4 years ago. I've been diagosed w/ Lupus and Rhematoid Arthritis now just Mild Arthritis in my shoulders, back, arms, knees and ankles. My blood tests now do not show what they did years past but through moving a new doctor says basically I'm just fat and need to lose weight. I'm 5'10 and about 25lbs over my BMI normal range. I admit I'm overweight but I'm trying, I've been exercising (on days it's not too cold) but even then I walk on the treadmil (can't run have no balance-get dizzy), get on exercise bike and lift weights for an hour. I'm watching what I eat, 100% whole wheat bread, vegetables, lots of protein, water-no sodas; do have lots of stress thought -ADHD child, deployed husband; any one been/going through the same any suggestions on exercises, meals, life changes?
Do diet pills, Thank you

i am also overweight, but a little older than you with 3 kids.
i tried everything to lose the weight and was having a very difficult time. my joints hurt, it was hard to breathe at times and i was always tired.

my doctor tested my thyroid (a simple blood test) and discovered that i have hypothyroid disorder (this slows your motabolism down)

now i take one small pill a day and exercise a little, and try to watch what i eat and the pounds are just melting away.....about at the rate of 5 or more pounds a month.

i have more energy and feel great!

so, i would suggest asking your doctor about testing your thyroid and also about depression as your description sounds like it could be either one or possibly something else.

dont settle for only getting your syptoms treated, you need to find out what is the underlying cause of your symptoms.

good luck to you

exercise for arthritis of the knee
Any sport/exercise that can be recommended with a person who has arthritis in the knees?

This is a friend of mine, who has always been active and likes sports, but has recently been diagnosed with arthritis in both knees. She was advised to lose weight too, so the knees would not have to work hard carrying the extra weight.
What kind of exercise would be good for someone with knee replacement?

Swimming is very low impact. If she's up for it, water aerobics classes. Sometimes cycling and speed skating are recommended after knee injuries. I'd ask the doctor or somebody at the gym for something that is low impact for the knees.

exercise arthritis knees
How do you exercise when you're in constant pain?

I'm an obese woman with severe degenerative arthritis in both knees. I’m in constant pain, and can’t walk or stand much, now in a wheelchair. I’ve tried several diets, none seem to work. I even did a bad thing and started taking Xenadrine NRG 8hour ( It work for me before when I was younger, & not on meds), and due to the 50Million medicines I’m on, it counteracted and I almost had a heart attack. Oh and I have a small blockage in my heart controlled by Bayer low dose. Growing old SUCKS!! I don’t want much. I just want to lose enough to get me able to be in less pain and be “frisky” with my wonderful husband again! I know I’m not active but, come on , something got to give when you’re taking slim fast for breakfast and lunch then a sensible dinner. That’s a WAY big difference from what I use to eat!! Any ideas on what can help? Could the medications cause me not to lose?

Make sure you talk to your doctor first but swimming and water aerobics are great for people who are very heavy and with knee problems. Even water walking is good. Your body is made up mostly of water so being in the water takes alot of the stress off your joints
